Audrey Assad, an American singer-songwriter born to a Syrian refugee father and a Virginian mother, began her musical journey at an early age, mastering the piano by two and eventually settling in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Her career took off in the realm of contemporary Christian music, with her debut album “The House You’re Building” garnering critical acclaim and commercial success upon its release in 2010. Assad’s musical prowess led her to collaborate with notable figures in the Christian music scene like Chris Tomlin and Matt Maher. Over time, Assad’s sound evolved, influenced by her diverse musical upbringing and her deepening Catholic faith. Moving to Nashville in 2008 marked a pivotal moment for Assad, where she recorded her EP “Firefly” and later signed with Sparrow Records.
