About “Snow on the Beach”
“Snow on the Beach” is an ethereal midtempo ballad by Taylor Swift featuring Lana Del Rey, found on Swift’s album “Midnights” (2022). Co-written and produced with Jack Antonoff, the song explores the concept of two people falling in love simultaneously. The track received critical acclaim and achieved commercial success, reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and entering the top 10 in various countries worldwide. A version with “more Lana” was later released as part of “The Til Dawn Edition” of the album in May of 2023.

Key features of the advanced version:
- Hybrid of the original recording and the “more Lana” version.
- I love the way Lana changes the melody of the second verse so I kept that intact (this is different from the original release)
- The ending is the extended version from the original recording (the “more Lana” version of the song shortens the ending)
- I played around with octave shifts on the choruses to add some drama and twinkly sounds in the upper registers

Key features of the intermediate version:
- Second verse is the “more Lana” version
- The ending is truncated (not the extended version from the original recording
- The textures are a bit thinner and the melody-line stays in the same range throughout (less octave shifts)

“Snow on the Beach” Easy Piano Solo
Key features of the easy version:
- Appropriate for late beginners and early intermediates
- Transposed to A minor to eliminate the key signature and keep the reading easier
- Second verse is the original version for ease of reading and it’s basically a repeat of the first verse material with only slight differences.
- The song is abridged and ends after the second chorus (skips the bridge and the original ending)
- Great study in C major scale fingering, easy position shifts, repeating chord pattern in the bass, and syncopation!
