Taylor Swift Sheet Music: "New Year's Day"

About “New Year’s Day”:

“New Year’s Day” is a ballad by Taylor Swift from her sixth studio album, Reputation (2017). Co-written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, the song stands out with its acoustic arrangement compared to the album’s electronic production. It narrates the morning after a New Year’s Eve party, where the protagonist and her lover clean up their house and care for each other. Released as a single on November 27, 2017, it received positive reviews for its intimate production and mature lyrics, with critics praising Swift’s songwriting. Despite being released to country radio, the song’s mixed reception reflected Swift’s shift to pop. It was performed on Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour and later on the Eras Tour in 2023. Olivia Rodrigo later interpolated the song in her track “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.” Commercially, “New Year’s Day” charted on various Billboard charts and gained positive retrospective reviews for its authenticity and maturity.
