Big note, landscape format is great for young and/or students with vision-related disabilities
Two versions included: one with (strategic) note names and one without note names
Single-line melody in five-finger position (G major) with no shared keys
Primer level
Great way to introduce eighth notes and the F-sharp
Simple, harmonically lush, teacher duet included
Concepts to discuss as you’re introducing the piece to a student:
Have the student identify and explain the time signature
Introduce the concept of the pick-up measure and find the missing beats at the end of the piece
Find and circle the groups of eighth notes. Make sure to point out how the cross-staff eighth notes look different
Clap out the rhythm of the piece (as they’re clapping, the teacher can clap along and say the note names as ‘lyrics’)
Introduce the concept of sharps and help the student locate the F-sharp
Explain the fermata at the end of the piece
Write some lyrics
Play the piece in different registers on the keyboard (do students like the piece played higher or lower?)
When playing the duet add a repeat and have the student move their part up another octave on the repeat
Your teacher part for the “Lullaby” duet is really gorgeous!
Glad you liked it - it’s a challenge for me to pare down my usually complicated duet parts!
