About “A Thousand Hallelujahs”

“A Thousand Hallelujahs” is the lead single from New Zealand singer-songwriter Brooke Ligertwood’s live album, Seven (2022), co-written with Phil Wickham and Scott Ligertwood. It was released on January 14, 2022 and reached number 44 on the US Hot Christian Songs chart.

Brooke Ligertwood announced the song’s release on the same date, accompanied by a live music video. The inspiration behind the song came during a writing session with Phil Wickham in a historic church hall in Southern California, where they were moved by the generational nature of the Church of Jesus and the countless hallelujahs sung in that space.
